"PUTTING UNITY BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY"
The Afro American Citizens of East Stuart Inc. is a local 501c3 non-profit organization that has been serving the citizens of Martin County since 2020. We're partnered with the City of Stuart to host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration & parade, the annual Black Heritage Festival, and the annual Juneteenth Festival here in the City of Stuart.
Vision – The Afro American Citizens of East Stuart Inc., primary vision is to stimulate the economy, expand employment opportunities, encourage the establishment and growth of black businesses, and otherwise enhance the economic development of the community.
Mission statements – To address the concerns, needs and ideas of the community to make a better community for all citizens of Martin County & the City of Stuart.
Objective – To provide awareness of our progress and increase citizen participation in local policies for this generation and future ones to be knowledgeable and continue to make beneficial contributions and thereby improve the overall quality of life for all citizens of the community.
Areas of Focus – Education, support programs that will design curriculums involving the accurate history of the journey and contributions of African Americans. Provide scholarships for those who excel academically yet fall victim to their disadvantaged environment. Social Justice, build effective programs aimed at helping our at-risk youth in both the educational setting and the greater community. Encourage positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. Health Equity, address health disparities, increase cultural competency, and decrease indifferent treatment of African American patients, which may lead to serious conditions being left undiagnosed.
